Over the years, I have had the fortune of experiencing the joy—and trial—of long-distance relationships. This poem was conceived on an evening slowly dimming at sunset, as I looked to the sky, longing for my beloved.
Poem text.
In shades of indigo,
her spirit’s bond to mine is shown
before the sunrise glow,
reflected on the ocean’s foam.
By dawn, it’s where I go,
to feel her presence on the shore
because she’s there—I know—
and waits for me when I’m alone.
The waters tell me so.
Beyond the sea, she’s there—my home—
and there I’m bound to row.
In tempest clouds about to pour,
in shades of indigo.

Man, you're killing it with these poems with the repeated rhyme. Nice work, this is a wonderful read.
This is really beautiful! No words I could say would be a good comment it’s just damn good. 😊
